FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED SINCE 1989

The Seventh Lake House Restaurant has been providing fine meals in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains for 30 years. The chef/owner Jim is always to be found in the kitchen, while his wife Chris (also a local school teacher) floats around the dining room chatting with customers. At the Seventh Lake House we strive to provide our customers with impeccable service and delectable dishes. The menu ranges from comfortable old favorites to unique and eclectic dishes. The chef/owner Jim hand selects each bottle on the wine list, leaving it to be one of the most extensive in the area. Dine on the enclosed porch with a view of Seventh Lake in the summer or enjoy a delicious meal by the cozy fireplace during the cooler months.

Jim Holt grew up in the Utica area and spent summers in the Adirondacks as a child. He knew that someday he would return. After living in Colorado and California for a number of years Jim and Chris purchased the Seventh Lake House Restaurant, formerly known as the Beaver Lodge, in 1988. The newlywed couple began their lives in the small town of Inlet, and have residing there ever since. Chris is an administrator in the local school, while Jim is the chef/owner here. They have two daughters, Courtney and Lauren, who are often seen buzzing around the restaurant. Courtney is an elementary teacher in the Mohawk Valley region, and Lauren currently works for CNN in NYC.

After losing our beloved dog Lilly, the restaurant has a new mascot, a Shetland Sheepdog named Willow. Our new pup can often be seen relaxing in the back yard or strolling around the perimeter of the property. Our staff ranges from locals who have been with us for a number of years to young and energetic college-aged students. Be sure to stop by our bar for a refreshing beverage from our long-time bartender Jeff!

We hope you'll stop by to see us soon!
